One of a set of two plaster niches found in a dusty corner of an antique shop on Northumberland. Chipped and sad looking they were just too beautiful to pass by.
After numerous coats of Designer's Guild Moss paint and being treated with Ghost's special smooth wax finish it came to life. Iridescent gold was added to some of the detailing and an old pewter bowl was decorated in exactly the same way.
The two pieces were glued together and a marriage was made in heaven.
The chips are still there but are not anywhere that can be seen without some effort but this all adds to the charm and the history of the piece.
