A concrete tassel decorated with sumptuous trimmings from the merciers and passementiers of Paris.
These mini-sculptures, each individually cast by hand, are concrete casts of real silk tassels with all the intricate detail of the original. The raw quality of the monochrome concrete is an intriguing contrast to the luxurious coloured cords and delicate trimmings.
Set inside a fabulous frame purchased from the The Bastille Antiques Fair in Paris, finished in a chalk white. We have placed this tassel on the same chalk white backdrop after decorating it with white silk rat's tail and pieces of delicate vintage lace. The tassel hangs from a very old papier mache ormalu by a length of intricate lace.
