A concrete tassel decorated with sumptuous trimmings from the merciers and passementiers of Paris. These mini-sculptures, each individually cast by hand, are concrete casts of real silk tassels with all the intricate detail of the original. The raw quality of the monochrome concrete is an intriguing contrast to the luxurious coloured cords and delicate trimmings.
We were given this fabulous Napoleon III table by a good friend and avid antiques collector in Paris. Finished in matte and lacquered black paints and topped with a gorgeous concrete tassel which is wound with a vintage black silk cord which is also wound around the leg of the table and finished with a tassel topped with a beautiful circle of cream vintage lace. There is much more to this table that meets the eye as the table top can be used as a blackboard. No one will miss reading your messages if this piece is placed near your front door.
